Education - Supervision

During my PhD, as Researcher of I.T.S.A.K. and after my appointment as Assistant Professor in the School of Geology of A.U.Th., I participated in the educational program of the Department of Geophysics. Thus educational activity mainly consists of the following:

a) Teaching of courses, laboratory and tutorial exercises to the undergraduate students of the School of Geology of the AUTH,

b) Teaching of courses to the M.Sc. students of the specialization “Geophysics” of the graduate studies of the School of Geology,

c) Training students (undergraduate and postgraduate) in field (geophysical) measurements,

d) Supervision of theses and compilation of educational material (e.g. lab notes).

Since the academic year 1995-1996 (until today) I have taught courses in the Geophysics Department for the MSc program “Geology and Geoenvironment” of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the field of Geophysics, such as Mathematics for Geophysicists, Computer Application in Geophysical Problem Solving, Geophysics of Greece, Seismic Methods of Geophysical Surveying, etc. In the current MSc “Applied and Environmental Geology” program I teach the course:

  • Geostatistics

and in the  branch of Geophysics the courses:

  • Mathematics for Geophysicists
  • Inversion Theory
  • Engineering Geophysics

Since the year 2013-2014 (and almost every year) I have been teaching (in collaboration) in the graduate program of the Institute of Earth and Environmental Science, Univ. of Potsdam, the course “Geophysical Inverse Theory MGPP04”.

I have been involved for 3 decades in the teaching of several undergraduate courses, laboratory and field exercises of the School of Geology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
